Vaccination Requirements for Boarding

Dog boarding requirements, vaccinations & forms

At Bull Valley Retrievers, the health & safety of your pets is our priority. Knowing the dietary needs, exercise restrictions or required medications for our guests helps us provide the best experience. Please note that we require the following:

Vaccinations

Vaccinations must be administered at least 48 hours prior to arrival under the guidance of a licensed veterinarian. However, we prefer vaccinations be administered 10 days before check-in. Please note that written proof is required.

DPP (Distemper, Parvovirus & Parainfluenza)

Either a 1 or 3-yr. vaccine is required.

Bordetella

This is required every 12 months, however, we do recommend vaccinating every 6 months and at least 7 days prior to boarding to ensure maximum efficiency & protection against Kennel Cough. Please note: many veterinarians administer this vaccine only by request. (Even if you do not plan on boarding your dog, we recommend vaccinating just in case as you never know what emergency may come up that you may “have to” board your dog.)  Also, note that kennel cough is an air-borne disease that can be caught in almost any situation.

Rabies

Either the 1 or 3-yr. vaccine is required.

Canine Influenza

Not required, but highly recommended to help protect your Dog against Canine Influenza respiratory illness. Consult your veterinarian on this vaccine.

Leptospirosis

Not required, but highly recommended to help protect against the Leptospirosis infection. Consult your veterinarian.

Fleas & Ticks

In addition to vaccinations, all dogs should be flea and tick free. Boarders with signs of fleas and/or ticks will be treated at owner’s expense prior to check-in.

 Required Pet Assessment Forms

To better serve our guests, we request pet parents to complete certain forms before their pet’s visit. These forms are available at time of drop-off.
